THE DOUROWORLD HERITAGE

WHAT TO DO

Encostas da Baronesa is located in the Alto Douro Wine Region, a cultural, evolutionary and lively landscape classified by UNESCO as a World Heritage site, given its exceptional and universal value of wine-growing landscape. It was in these deep and hard valleys of shale and granite, excavated throughout the ages by the river, that man “carved” one of the most beautiful works of landscape art in the world. The construction of terraces (by hand) for vineyard cultivation made it possible that these steep and hard slopes would become the birthplace of one of the finest nectars in the world: the Port wine. Dazzle yourself with this magnificent region and know all its history linked to the arduous work of the vineyard and wine.
